John Murtagh Macrossan (12 March 1930 – 5 August 2008) was Queensland’s 16th Chief Justice〔Australian Law Journal (Australia) Volume 82, Number 9, September 2008. http://lawlib.wlu.edu/CLJC/index.aspx?mainid=867&issuedate=2008-08-29〕 and the third person from the Macrossan family to occupy that position.〔 He was also a distinguished barrister, chancellor and judge.
